Our Agents

Sherry Elder
My family and I moved to the Triangle in 1996, we happily settled into Apex which was a small town of about 11,000.   I utilized my education to work for a local custom home builder and developer during the explosive growth of the next few years.  In 2005 I obtained my Real Estate license and began working for a large firm in Cary.  I realized quickly that required meetings and high production goals did not satisfy my own desire to concentrate on service to my customers.

In 2007 I purchased Accent Realty from a retiring agent and set out on a different business model.  A small group of agents joined me from my previous firm and we have created a company that values the needs and goals of our clients above the impact on the company’s bottom line.

Another job change for my husband took us to eastern North Carolina in 2012.  I am active in the Beaufort County (and surrounding area) market and also remain active in the Raleigh Regional MLS.

I am proud of the level of service and commitment we offer at Accent.  It is and has been my greatest reward to have satisfied clients who refer new business to us based on their experience.

Meredith Miles
Born and raised in Cary, NC, I attended Wake County Schools (Briarcliff Elementary, West Lake Middle, and Apex High) and didn't travel far for college (Go Pack)! After growing up watching my mom, Lisa Wilbourne, in real estate I knew I wanted to get into the business of helping people buy and sell homes.

I became a Realtor just after graduating from NC State in 2003. In addition to being a real estate agent, I also had jobs as a legal assistant in a real estate closing attorney's office and most recently worked for a custom home builder as their selections coordinator. These experiences made me even better equipped to serve my clients and help in the home buying and selling process. I am committed to making every transaction a great experience.

My husband and I are happy to be raising our children in this wonderful area.

Marty Gillespie
I’ve been a professional real estate broker for more than ten years, specializing in residential sales in Wake County and the surrounding areas. I rely on my negotiation and communication skills to help you buy or sell your home in a timely manner.

Being a handyman is a perfect complement in this profession. I am constantly on the lookoutfor repairs that need to be done and items that need to be replaced in every home my clients are interested in. If you are in the market to purchase a home, this will give you a better idea if the home is worth the asking price. And if you want to sell your home, I can help with advice about what needs to be fixed or replaced to get the highest return on the sale of your home. I have plenty of good contacts with industry professionals for major renovations, and I even do some remodeling work myself.

I grew up in a family of builders and have an in-depth understanding of the many workings of constructing and maintaining a home. It’s one of your biggest buys and a major asset. Having more than 15 years’ experience in real estate in Wake and surrounding counties, I was a multimillion dollar producer at FonvilleMorisey and Prudential Carolinas Realty before joining Accent Realty where I currently serve as the broker in charge.

I’m a graduate of the University of Tennessee, and I hold a Series 7 stockbroker certification. While I sometimes deal in commercial real estate transactions, what I enjoy most is helping people buy and sell their homes, from the big picture to all the details along the way, in this dynamically growing part of North Carolina.

Lisa Wilbourne

I have been a licensed Realtor in Triangle area of North Carolina since 1990. Born and raised the majority of my life in North Carolina, I am a true North Carolinian! I lived in Richmond, VA during my High School years then attended Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. After graduating from VCU, I married my High School sweetheart  Kirk. We moved to Raleigh to attend graduate school at NC State University.
We have loved living, working, and raising our three daughters in Cary, NC over the past 33 years. Having raised three daughters here in the area has provided me with personal knowledge of the area schools, sports, and recreational opportunities for anyone moving here with children. Teaching at Wake County schools, St. Michael's Early Childhood Center, and being a childcare provider for several families prior to becoming a Realtor provided me with nurturing relationships which also furthers my Real Estate career. Working at Raleigh Community Hospital while in graduate school and owning a small craft business with a friend gave me the business background that was needed to become a successful Realtor.
Over the past years I have been actively involved with The Cary YMCA in roles such as Y Board Member and YMCA We Build People Team Leader and Campaigner. I have also been active with the Cary YMCA Super Skippers, Cary Presbyterian Church (member, teacher, covenant group, mission work/project ), Girl Scouts, CASL Soccer league, Cary and Apex Parks & Rec. sports, St. Michael's' ECC fundraiser chair & MMO Chair, Raleigh Woman's Realtor Council, and Home Builders Association member. In my current neighborhood I organized a woman's book club, couples dinner club, Bunco, and served on the HOA Board as club house chair person.

Prior to becoming a Realtor, I was a teacher. I loved the experience of buying our first home and soon realized after we built our second home that becoming a Realtor would be a profession that I could really enjoy. Being a people person as well as a nurturing person I was drawn to the Real Estate profession. I could see that home buying and selling was a personal and educational experience for most people. I loved the idea that I could use my teaching skills and area knowledge to help others buy or sell their homes. Using my organizational skills and teaching strategies has been one of the main reasons I have been a successful agent for over 20+ years in Triangle Real Estate market. I truly love helping people find the home of their dreams and making them feel that they are part of a community. I have also enjoyed being able to assist people in selling their homes. With years of experience, as well as being a certified relocation specialist, I have been able to offer and give homeowners what they need for a positive experience when selling their home.

I am truly blessed to have been able to meet, help, and make so many new friends by being a Realtor!  For this reason, I encouraged my oldest daughter Meredith Wilbourne Miles to join me in this profession. I hope that if you need an agent or team you will consider calling us with your Real Estate needs.
